Guided Tour of Historic Homes

Museum Site Educational Programming

Visit the oldest home in Little Rock, meet a Living History character (10 am - 3 pm), see where Arkansas's first newspaper was once printed and learn more about urban 19th-century Arkansas. The tour includes the introductory video.

Guided Tour of 1850s Farmstead

Created especially for younger students (K-3), this tour explores rural life in 19th century Arkansas at the Plum Bayou Farmstead. The museum has assembled 19th century farm buildings from their original sites. In the barn, slave cabin and 3-room log house, students hear stories and do simple hands-on activities. The tour begins with an orientation in the theater.
